Chicken Flower Dumplings

After learning my cooking lessons the hard way and the physics behind the cooking in an even harder way  (click here to read the story) , this weekend I decided to give cooking another go.
I started by borrowing my friend's microwave (or rather stealing it as he is in Ivory Coast at this moment completely unaware that his microwave is being used for experiments) and by getting a recipe book of India's most celebrated chef Sanjeev Kapoor, (visit his website for more awesome recipes).
Now , before you may accuse me of being an incorrigible thief , I will like to state that I bought the recipe book with my own hard earned money.
My next move was to scroll through the whole book to find ....No, not the most exquisite recipe but the the simplest one.You would nod in consent that it's a wise move by me ,  have you had the chance to read my adventures with half fry egg.

I choose to make Chicken Flower Dumplings - a chicken starter dish. Surprisingly, I was able to pull it off without too many critical accidents. The dish also turned out to be quite delicious.
Hence I would like to share the cooking process with you hoping that you would be inspired to try out the same.
After all , if I can cook it , then anyone in the world can cook it !
So here we go ---

Ingredients -
Minced Chicken - 1 cup
Long grain Rice - 1/4 cup
Green Chillies  - 3-4
(I did not use the chillies as I am afraid of them but if you are more courageous , you can definitely try it )
Ginger Paste - 1 table spoon
Peppercorns  (known as Black Pepper / Kali Mirch in India )
Salt - as per taste
Some sauce of your choice - eg Salsa sauce , Green Corriender Sauce

Preparation Method -

1. Soak the rice in half a cup of water for an hour. This will soften the rice. After one hour , drain off the excess water.

 2. If you do not have minced chicken from the market , you and mince it yourself. It is fun but a bit tiring.

3. Remove the stems of the green chillies and chop them(in case you choose to add the chillies)
4 Put the minced chicken , chillies , ginger paste and peppercorns in a container and mix them to make a consistent mixture.

4.Divide the mixture into twelve equal proportions.
5.Form round balls from each portion and roll them over the pre-soaked rice.

6. In a large microwave container , pour in eight cups of water.Cover the lid of the container and place it in the microwave at the  high temperature (i.e. on  around 800 watts of power) for about twelve to fifteen minutes or till the water starts to boil.

7.After than ,  open the lid of the container and gently add the chicken balls in the water , and cover the container again. Cook again  on high temperature (on around 800 watts of power) in the microwave for about eight minutes.
8.After eight minutes, leave the dish in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes.

9.Then take out the container , and pick out the chicken balls with a spoon.
10.Server hot with a dip of your favorite sauce.

Bon appetite !!!
